There is no better way to start the morning than with a glass of carrot and ginger juice! This recipe complies with the Paleo and Whole 30 diets and is dairy-free, nut-free and refined sugar-free. The best part? You can easily make this carrot juice without a juicer!!

Both carrots and ginger are great for the immune system and the skin as they contain loads of vitamin A, C and E. The perfect drink both in summer and winter. Feel free to drink it with the bits in. I sieved mine this time around, but I sometimes like to have something to chew on so I leave the bits in.
Turmeric is rich in curcumin which is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin is the compound that gives turmeric its yellow colour.
TIP: Skip the honey in the recipe to keep the recipe whole 30 compliant.
Furthermore, one only needs 5 readily-available ingredients to make this carrot and ginger juice.
No fancy gourmet ingredients needed to make this carrot and ginger juice. You can easily make carrot juice at home without a juicer. Additionally, you can find all the ingredients at your local supermarket or farmers market.
- Carrots - medium-sized
- Orange juice
- Ginger
- Turmeric
- Honey - to sweeten the juice (totally optional)
This juice can be made ahead of time and safely stored in the refrigerator for 3days. To do so, simply fill the juice in a sanitized bottle. This can also be kept in the freezer for up to one year. To defrost, simply remove the bottle with the juice from the freezer and place it on the kitchen counter-top to thaw (preferably overnight).

Kitchen Tools and Equipment needed
This recipe does not require you to have a juicer. All you need is:
- A blender
- Muslin cloth or clean kitchen cloth- to serve the bits, for those who do not like having fruity or vegetable bits in their juice
TIP: Other spices that go well with the turmeric and ginger combo include:-
- Cinnamon
- Black pepper
- Cardamon and
- Chilli powder or paprika if you like it fiery.
Carrot and Ginger Juice
Equipment
- A blender
- Muslin cloth or clean kitchen cloth- to serve the bits, for those who do not like having fruity or vegetable bits in their juice
Ingredients
- 8 carrots medium sized
- 1 cup orange juice no added sugar
- 5 grams ginger or about ½ a thumb size
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 cup water
- muslin or clean kitchen cloth to sieve
- honey to taste (optional) omitt for whole 30
Instructions
- Wash and peel the carrots then chop them up into large chunks.
- Squeeze out the juice from the oranges and set aside. You can also use 1 cup of good quality orange juice with no added sugars or preservatives.
- Add everything to a blender and blend until properly mixed up. The juice can then be sieved over a muslin cloth or clean kitchen. Simply place a muslin cloth or clean kitchen cloth over a large bowl. Press the cloth a little, so that it curves into the bowl. Pour the juice over the muslin or kitchen cloth and quickly gather the four corners of the cloth together then squeeze to capture as much of the bits as possible.
- Pour into a jug and chill for approximately 30 minutes. Serve in glasses and enjoy.
Notes
- Save the sieved bits to use in salads, soups, stews or in bread baking.
